"Where hospitality is an art form."
Frederick W. Stein, Sr, inventor and industrialist, built this Classic Revival home in 1948. In January, 2004 the building was approved for addition to the national Register of Historic Places. In 1925 stein invented a radio that operated on household electrical current. Prior to his invention, radios depended on dangerous liquid cell batteries. He introduced this innovation at the national radio show in New York City in 1926. Value of Steinite Co. stock moved from $27.50 to $57.50 in just a month. In 1932 Stein invented a testing meter to measure the moisture content of grain, seeds and cotton.
It is still being sold worldwide
.John & Janet bought the home in 1993 from the widow of Fred Stein's only son, Frederick, Jr. In 2000 they converted it to a bed and breakfast where they also reside.
